Tim McGraw speaks up about concert slapping
Tim McGraw made headlines this weekend for slapping a fan in the face during a concert.
During his performance of “Truck Yeah” at the concert at Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta, McGraw leaned down to touch the crowds hands. As he did, a fan grabbed at his pants from behind and proceeded to rip the jeans.
McGraw tried to brush away her hands, then turned around and slapped the female fan in the face.
“It happened in a split second, it was pure instinctive reaction…nobody feels good about it, but there’s nothing that could be done about it,” McGraw told ET Canada.
So far, no charges have been made. As long as no one files a complaint, police will not be pursuing it further, as they believe the slap was justified.
His team defended him to Billboard, saying “He instinctively swatted to try and keep them from ripping his jeans (which they succeeded at doing), and so he could get to more fans who were trying to slap hands with him before the end of the show. He didn’t know who had grabbed him and was trying to keep his pants from being torn. A video of the slap can be found here: http://www.tmz.com/2014/07/17/tim-mcgraw-slaps-woman-concert-video/
