Steamy, Captivating ACM Performance of “Chasing After You"

Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd have been couple goals long before the 2021 ACM Awards, but after their live duet of “Chasing After You,” they are the undoubtedly the pinnacle of couples in country music. From the moment Morris walked on stage, the couple had each other locked in a trance, unable to keep their eyes (and their hands!!) off of each other. From the stage decorations looking like heaven on Earth, to the intense chemistry between Morris and Hurd, the performance has fans absolutely swooning and falling in love with the pair all over again.

“Chasing After You,” released in February of this year is a song that speaks about undeniable spark, the type of something that can’t keep two people apart, forcing them to keep chasing after each other. In interviews, Morris has said that the couple decided to record this song because it was so similar to their love story. When Morris and Hurd met, they were just friends; they were also dating other people at the time. But eventually, the chemistry between them became real— they couldn’t stop chasing one another. This led to their marriage in 2018. Since then, the Morris/Hurd relationship has been in the forefront of country music’s pop culture.

On Morris’s Instagram, she posted a video of the “Chasing After You” live performance with a caption saying “obsessed with you @ryanhurd.” Yeah, I think it’s safe to say we’re all now a little more obsessed with the dreamiest, steamiest couple in country music.
