Some Things To Expect At The ACM Awards

Last year CBS held the 50th annual ACM awards in Arlington, Texas, shattering world records in multiple categories; 70,000 people packed into the AT&T Stadium to celebrate country music and all of the people involved in it. There were iconic performances and massive wins across the board, and it’s going to pretty damn hard to top it this year. The ACMs will be moving back to Vegas, and the executive producers of the show have released some information about the program that have us here at Crankit very excited! Arguably the biggest change happening this year is Dierks Bentley replacing Blake Shelton as co host. He’ll be accompanying Luke Bryan, which should make for a fun night. “Dierks Bent

Josh Goodlett "I Don't Usually Do This"

Country newcomer, Josh Goodlett, moves audiences everywhere with his new single, “ I Don’t Usually Do This”. It is rare that you find an artist whose songs are as well crafted and honest as Josh Goodlett, and his latest exemplifies that honesty flawlessly. The song, co-written by Bobby E. Boyd, Brad Wold and Phillip Moore, tells the story of someone who is letting their guard down in a relationship, being the kind of person to keep their emotional walls built up high; they are usually the one to run away from faulty relationships. Perhaps the line,“I don’t usually do this, my heart don’t fall” tells it all; Josh Goodlett is frightened, and not afraid to share it. Never the one to fall in lov

You Will Lose Your S*** When You Hear Bobby Bones And The Raging Idiots

Why does the world love people like Weird Al Yankovic so much? Because the only thing better than a great song is a great parody. If you love a good comedy act, then you’ve come to the right article! Bobby Bones And The Raging Idiots’ new album, “The Critics Give It 5 Stars,” is one of the funniest things you’ll hear this year, but be warned: you might want to call an ambulance ahead of time, because you’re going to laugh until it hurts. You know exactly what you’re getting into as soon as you see the song titles; with tracks like “Reenactments With Fake Luke Bryan” and “She’s A 10, I’m A 2,” you know your gut is going to burst by the end of each song. What’s even more impressive are the HIG

Chris Stapleton Has “Nobody To Blame”

Sometimes, people rise up out of nowhere and take the world of music by storm. I think we all know exactly who I’m talking about here: Chris Stapleton. His single, “Nobody To Blame,” snuck up to #14 on the Billboard Country charts this week, which is no surprise given his recent accomplishments. This guy has had a legendary 6 months, taking home 3 CMA awards and 2 Grammys; he’ll be going into the ACM awards in April with 6 nominations, where “Nobody To Blame” will be in the running for song of the year! Part of why “Nobody To Blame” sticks out so much so in the Country world today is because it doesn’t sound like most modern country. The song is riddled with fiddle and older, western-style

Madame Tussaud's Is Giving Nashville A Wax In 2017

What would you say if someone called you up and asked if they could make a life-size wax replica of you? Most people wouldn’t make very far past that first question, but there is one name that would convince them to stay on the line: Madame Tussaud’s. One of the coolest and strangest honors that any celebrity could receive is having a wax replica made and displayed in one of these famous wax museums, and Nashville will be getting its turn next year! Madame Tussaud’s will be crankin’ out its 7th U.S. museum in Opry Mills shopping mall, set to open up in the spring of 2017. This new exhibit, themed “Soundtrack Of America,” will feature iconic musicians of past and present. Sounds like it’ll be

Kix Brooks Is Crankin’ Out A Cajun Cookbook

You may know him as the first half of one of Country music’s biggest duos of all time, but today he comes to us with a different flavor of his life. Kix Brooks is crankin’ out his very own down-home cookbook, based on his Louisiana heritage. This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, since Kix has been known to be a bit of a foodie; he actually had a show that aired on the Cooking Channel, “Steak Out With Kix Brooks,” where he travelled around the country to check out steakhouses in some of the country’s major cities. Kix is crankin’ up the heat and kickin’ out some of his favorite personal recipes, based on his roots down in Shreveport, Louisiana. When asked about it, he said, “Whether

The Life and Songs Of Kris Kristofferson Tonight at Bridgestone

Tonight we pay tribute to one of the most interesting men to ever crank his way through Country music, Kris Kristofferson. There aren’t a whole lot of people who can boast the accomplishments of this living legend; this guy has done it all, from boxing to film, military service to music, and so much more. Where else can you find an All-American athlete with a golden globe who can fly a helicopter? This Country hitmaker spent his early days boxing, playing rugby, and writing songs at different colleges. After his education was complete, He went into the U.S. Army, where he earned the rank of Captain and became a helicopter pilot. After leaving the Army in 1965, he started crankin’ out big Cou

Palmer Lee Release Show w/ Baylor Wilson

On Thursday February 18 at 8:00 p.m. Palmer held her release party at The High Watt where they celebrated the release of her new EP “Too Close.” The gathering was for fans, friends, and family to hear the record live, before it was available the following day on Iiunes and Spotify. A musical reference that we love, that Palmer reminds us of, is the talented and gorgeous, Ashley Monroe. A phrase from one of her soon to be hits, "Last Call," is country at its finest, “I’m always your first call, when it comes to last call." The show ended with opener, Baylor Wilson (who recently signed her first publishing deal with SeaGayle Music and Station West) joining Palmer on stage to sing a song they
