ARTIST RAY SCOTT CELEBRATES NEW SINGLE RELEASE--“AIN’T ALWAYS THIRSTY”

Critically acclaimed Ray Scott (deciBel Nashville) releases the sobering single, “Ain’t Always Thirsty,” from his newest CD, RAY SCOTT. Co-written with Mark Stephen Jones, the signature Ray Scott tune comes from Ray’s emotional and painful divorce and self-reflection.

[…Thirsty’ made me take a hard look at the mistakes I’ve made in my life; writing it was therapeutic. I think it’s one of the best songs I’ve ever written. I drew from real pain and the music and melodies that I grew up on—the music that I am drawn to as a fan and as a recording artist.] —Ray Scott

The track enjoyed an early welcome from fans across the country during its debut on Sirius XM’s “The Highway” last month.

In the vein of Waylon, Willie and Kristofferson, the storyline was born as a result of an emotional and painful divorce and self-reflection. The simplistic, pensive lyrics showcase a deeper, more vulnerable side of the indie performer and recording artist.

Early Applause…

“’Ain’t Always Thirsty’ is a song that I imagine would make George Jones happy to know that there are artists still making traditional country music. Take a listen and hear some country ear candy!!” –Clay Moden, WYRK (Buffalo, NY)

"This song is amazing and a welcome reminder of the potential of country music. When you ask people why they love country, some of the top responses are ‘It tells a great story’ and ‘I can relate to it.’ Ray Scott tells relatable stories. He does it with country music. A pen, a guitar and an amazing voice are the only things any great artist has ever needed to resonate. That's Ray Scott's toolbox. Johnny Cash rolls over in his grave when Ray Scott is on the radio - so that he can hear it better.” –Craig Allen, WHWY (Destin, FL)

" I played the song two times in a one week period. The following week during my ‘Big J Happy Hour’ on Hot Country KMIT, the song was requested via email and phone lines 37 times. We document the calls and emails. One listener told me it's the closest thing to Waylon he's ever heard. This is a powerful song, with heart-moving lyrics and Ray's one-of-a-kind voice. It was an instant hit in South Dakota!” –Joel Van Dover, KMIT (Mitchell, SD)

"You will swear Waylon is alive and well when you hear ‘Ain't Always Thirsty.’ Not even kidding!” –Fletcher Brown, WXFL (Florence, AL)

“Throughout my booking career I have represented some of the great singers in country music (Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash, to name two) that stylistically made a mark in the country music industry. Ray Scott reminds me a lot of those great icons with his unique sound and style. I am excited to get to work with and rep Ray as his exclusive agent.”—Bob Kinkead, President/Owner, The Kinkead Entertainment Agency
