Skylar Elise's Self-Titled EP
Skylar Elise's album is upbeat, and perfectly paired with lyrics like, "Gypsy Soul's," "when that restless wind starts blowing, we both know it's about that time." The young songster shows great talent, and that restlessness that all teenagers wrestle with. I love the authenticity of the EP, and that she vulnerably shares that with her listeners. "Mr.-Not-So-Right" is a stripped down track accompanied by an acoustic guitar. The lyrics capture that "voice in the back of your mind" that's telling you he's "Mr.-not-so-right." Skylar, is honest, and can hold her own with fully produced tracks and acoustic ones like "My Hurricane", "Your Love (Strong Enough)", "Mr.-not-so-right", and "Prince Charming Isn't You." Vocally, Skylar reminds me of an interesting mix between Lorde and Miranda Lambert. Lyrically, she's a talent for such a young age. Check out Skylar Elise HERE
