Derek Jones’ new album, “Last of a Dying Breed” is out now and available on all streaming platforms. The album features songs that have a perfect country-rock vibe. The five songs are, “Nature of the Beast,” “Everybody’s Somebody,” “Black Cloud,” “Pokin’ Holes,” and “Last of a Dying Breed.” Jone’s last album “Pray” was a huge hit, and fans are thrilled with his new album release. In “Last of a Dying Breed,” Jones sings, “There ain’t any souls left like me, I'm a man of my word that's a guarantee. I'm the last of a dying breed.”
Derek Jones and James LeBlanc teamed up to write “Everybody’s Somebody” and it shows Jones’ true character in an exceptional way. Throughout the song, Jones inspires people to treat others with kindness. He sings about how his mother taught him to treat people with the golden rule, treating others how you would like to be treated, no matter who they are. “Whether you’re a millionaire, or a carny at the county fair,” Jones sings. “You’re gonna get the same from me. We’re all cut from the same ole cloth.” Jones is a genuine man that cares for every person no matter who they are.
Jones is a United States Navy Veteran, and his music shows his love for the red, white, and blue. Shortly after James returned home from the U.S. Navy, he had a drive to learn how to play the guitar and started crafting his own country-rock style music. This album shows Jones’ dedication to the United States of America and to all of its people. “Last of a Dying Breed,” shows that Jones is a strong, reliable, headstrong individual.
