DJ Khaled and Drake Star Justin Bieber in Their Music Video for “POPSTAR”

Drake and DJ Khaled have a long history of collaborations - and they just released the music videos for their most recent project together, “POPSTAR.” The video starred Justin Bieber in lieu of Drake, and included several other surprise appearances. The 8 minute long video begins with a series of video calls from Khaled to Drake bombarding him with clips of him yelling and begging to film the music video. Frustrated, Drake calls Khaled “off his rocker,” and calls in a favor from a friend - revealed to be Justin Bieber, waking up in the music video lip syncing over Drake’s words. The video takes place in a party house, with scenes by the pool, a driveway full of sports cars, and other various spots throughout the mansion. He sings among dancers while girls surround him, and influencers such as King Bach make appearances. As the lyrics make a reference to Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, he makes a guest appearance as well. Towards the end of the video, Bieber passes out and falls asleep under some women. He wakes up in his own bed next to his wife, Hailey Bieber, and confusedly explains his fever dream. They shrug it off and take their dog for a walk, and his phone rings - the caller ID naming none other than Drake himself. “POPSTAR” is one of the collaborations DJ Khaled released back in July, along with “GREECE,” also featuring Drake. Khaled has confirmed that both will be included on his upcoming album, Khaled Khaled , set for release later this year.
