Elle King and Miranda Lambert Staying Out All Night
Elle King and Miranda Lambert got together to create their second collaboration “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).” The former tour mates’ first collaboration “Fooled Around and Fell in Love,” is a CMA-winning cover. King and Martin Johnson wrote “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home),” and Johnson produced the track as well. King and Lambert recorded their duet pre-pandemic in Nashville and New York. “We don’t gotta wait until the weekend/There’s always time to jump in off the deep end,” Lambert sings, with King following, “So don’t you wait up tonight, don’t worry I’ll be fine/Baby I’m drunk and I don’t wanna go home.” The two combine their strong vocals with the idea of blowing off steam in the night hours to produce a fun party anthem. “The true story of this song sums up our wild friendship,” Elle King said in a statement. “Miranda is someone I have looked up to as a songwriter, musician, performer, and human being for a long time. So, our tumbleweed snowball story of getting to know each other is the ultimate real deal kinda thing. Nobody revs me up, kicks my ass on stage, or treats me more like family than Miranda Lambert.” Lambert said that the music video was a fun time for them while they got to play dress up and drink all day. The music video shows that the two have a great bond and the song reflects their connection in the same way. King and Lambert’s “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” will be blasted at full volume as the new party number.
