Get to Know Musician, Radio Correspondent, and Self-Proclaimed Dork, Sam Rochford

Sam Rochford, the 25 year old Nashville musician and radio correspondent originally hailing from Connecticut, is sure to become your next musical obsession! Before making the move down to Nashville, Sam was the host of "Markov Music" on Boston's popular internet radio station, WEMF. When she arrived in Nashville, she got a job as an on-air correspondent for the 650 AM WSM show "Nashville Today" hosted by Devin O'Day!

Her musical influences range from more modern Americana acts like Secret Sisters and The Mountain Goats to the classics like Bob Dylan and Patsy Cline. Her lyrics are very direct and insightful and she proves herself to be a true master of the art of telling a story. Her latest single, "So Easy", was released in March and has already been charting nationally on the IndieWorld Country Record Report, the world’s first independent country chart.

"So Easy" is a perfectly relaxed, good mood song. Constant fingerpicking from a mellow acoustic guitar drives throughout the laid-back tune. Sam sings honestly with her unique and quirky vocals about loving someone through all of their faults, and having them do the same for you, in a love that just feels so easy. "I don't mind your bad side as long as you don't mind mine/You're always sorry for who you are but you don't have to apologize". It feels like the perfect song to listen to while cozied up under a blanket drinking hot tea!

She is very active on her Youtube Channel, covering everything from The Devil Makes Three to The Weeknd! You can catch her in writers rounds all over Nashville and as a part of the Hippie Chick Twang monthly concert series! Check out her single "So Easy" below!
