Country Star In the Making: Laci Kaye Booth

Up and coming country artist, Laci Kaye Booth kicked off what is set to be an eventful summer for her with her new release “Daddy’s Mugshot.” Releasing back in March, the song was celebrated by Booth’s debut at the iconic Grand Ole Opry the following night. Following the performance, Booth took to instagram to post a clip from the show, explaining her inspiration for the track. “I wrote this song called Daddy’s Mugshot after I was scrolling on Facebook and I saw my dad’s mugshot going around, and I didn’t know he got arrested.” Said Booth. “He was grinning from ear to ear and he would be here tonight but his probation officer wouldn’t let him come.”

“Daddy’s Mugshot” has a classic country feel and follows the Texas native through her journey of trying to make it in Nashville. Singing of her stuggle to succeed in the music industry, It highlights both the storytelling abilities and intriguing vocal tone that define Booth’s unique sound. It is sure to be a song to turn heads throughout her touring this summer opening for current country stars Morgan Wallen, Megan Moroney and Parker McCollum.
