PAYTON HOWIE RECOGNIZES WOMEN WHO PAVED THE WAY IN COUNTRY MUSIC
As a woman in the country music scene, Payton Howie understands the hard work and persistence it takes to make it in a male-dominated industry. Howie’s newest single, “Country Before Me,” honors women in country music who have paved the way for artists like her to follow.
In a premiere with Cowgirl Magazine, Howie states, “This song is a change of pace from the more rowdy songs I’ve put out before and shows a side of my artistry that I haven’t shared with my listeners till now.” “This single allows me to show my gratitude and respect for the women of country that went before me and changed the course of country music history.”
Payton just released her acoustic music video this week which is currently featured on CMT. The video shows Howie in a church singing the passionate lyrics:
It was song and bold / those that pave less traveled roads
It was the dreamers / believers / and tortured souls
