Independent artist Chris Erasmus returns with a reflective new release, NeverPlanned, a track that leans into the emotional tension between expectation and reality. Built around introspective lyricism and a quietly expansive atmosphere, the song captures a familiar but deeply personal experience: the moment when life unfolds in ways we never imagined.

Yesterday The Strokes made an Instagram post teasing a new album called “Reality Awaits” with a snippet of audio that we would soon find to be a single named “Going Shopping” released the following day. Today (April 7th ), we have received the full announcement and the release of that single. Along with the announcement, we now know the track list, album art, and release date.

Masked musicians are nothing new to pop culture; between Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Marshmallow, and countless other DJs, we have accepted it as a sort of sub-genre of electronic/pop music, adding a fun element and usually a secretive/hidden identity puzzle for fans to explore. Angine de Poitrine adds to this zeitgeist and subtly redefines it by adding experimental alt-rock to the list of possible genres for a masked creative to succeed in.

In the form of another EP (the group's second), 'Spring Forward' is the concise, hard-hitting collection we needed to confirm their talent. While not an album, as many fans are surely hoping for, these four tracks provide enough to hold us over until that eventual day.

Pulling from IDM and punk rock, Model/Actriz certianly have a unique sound to themselves. Possibly the most surprising part of their sonic identity is the refrain they exert in every song. Many artists in this space go for a maximalist vibe, but this group seems to aim for a busy yet refined approach.
