“Talk talk” appears on xcx’s hit album “BRAT”, and perfectly sums up the exhilarating and nerve wracking feelings that come with having a crush. According to People, the song is about the beginning of Charli’s relationship with her now fiance, The 1975’s George Daniel. According to the singer, the two were “at the NME Awards, we were both sat on different tables, and we were like texting each other, but we weren’t hanging out. But we were both looking over at each other – it was very like, one of us would look, and the other one would look away, and then just vice versa.”
The remix, however, brings a new life to the original song, perfectly meshing the artist’s voices over top of a bouncy house beat. Produced by A.G. Cook, Zhone, NOVODOR, Styalz Fuego and Hudson Mohawke, “Talk talk featuring troye sivan” somehow manages to combine vulnerability and danceability, a masterclass in music-making for the future.
