In perhaps a half-contrast to the twangy pop featured in the original ‘Box for Buddy, Box for Star’, many of the tracks on the second (yes, second!) deluxe addition have a down-to-earth indie-twang direction captained by many of the most prominent figures in this sub-genre. You have beautiful renditions that completely flip the script to the original songs, but retain the original’s sense of self.

Further cementing himself as one of the greatest guitarists, Jack White’s latest features incredible runs and solos while maintaining a rather easy-listening blues-rock front. Fans can hope that the release of these two tracks signals a soon-to-come album release, but more to come on that.

Yesterday The Strokes made an Instagram post teasing a new album called “Reality Awaits” with a snippet of audio that we would soon find to be a single named “Going Shopping” released the following day. Today (April 7th ), we have received the full announcement and the release of that single. Along with the announcement, we now know the track list, album art, and release date.

In the form of another EP (the group's second), 'Spring Forward' is the concise, hard-hitting collection we needed to confirm their talent. While not an album, as many fans are surely hoping for, these four tracks provide enough to hold us over until that eventual day.
